Ahwahnee had a new star born, at 1:35 am on March 20, 2016, Bechler of Windhorse Mountain. Bechler is a purebred Friesian colt with a stellar pedigree. Windhorse Mountain has high hopes for Bechlers’ future as a champion dressage and driving horse.
Bechler has beauty, correct movement and a very kind temperament to make him a a very special boy. He was imprinted as a newborn and is brave and forward but very easy to handle. He is 16.2 hands and still growing! He has been started under saddle and he is athletic, very willing and easy to work with.
His beautiful mother, Wentsje f. Signature Friesians was imported from the Netherlands. She descends from the famous stam line 50, filled with Preferent and Model mares, and has produced two 2ndPremium foals.
Her sire Ulbert 390, Sport, is a competitive FEI horse and an exceptional sire, approved on offspring. His career had a spectacular start when, as a three year old, he was one of the top-ranked horses at his stallion inspection in the Netherlands. He quickly began to win dressage classes in the Netherlands before being imported to the U.S.A., where he continued to ascend the levels. He was named the CBLM Championship Third Level Reserve Champion in 2007. In 2014 he scored over 65% at Prix St. Georges. His first offspring established him as a sire of note when his son, Maurits 437 Sport received his Approved stallion status. Son Jonas ISF Star has won through Third level and several daughters have been awarded 1stPremium, Provisional Crown and championship honors. Ulbert is recognized as a sire of a high percentage of Star and 1stPremium offstpring.
Bechler’s sire is the amazing Tjalbert 460 from Iron Springs Farm in Pennsylvania. He was imported from the Netherlands to the U.S.A. in 2012. He claimed 1stplace, M2 dressage Champion KFPS-Variso, 2012 and Champion, and the Friesian Indoor Dressage Championship, 2011. He sired two colts who were selected to compete at the KFPS Stallion Show in the Netherlands in 2014, a Foal Champion at the 2012 KFPS Keuring , a 1stPremium Colt in 2012 and a Champion Colt and Champion Filly at the KFPS Keuring in Grobefehn, Germany in 2011.
